The Podio to DB App Schema Data Sync connector can be used to return schema information about apps contained within a Podio Space. Allowing you to replicate your Podio workspace within another Database system.
Data Sync connects to Podio via the Podio OAuth 2.0 protocol, this requires an API Key combination of Client ID and Client Secret. Out of the box Data Sync has internal copies of our Keys it is recommend that for production use you generate your own keys this is because each key has it's own API limits.
Within your Podio account under API Keys
create a new application and keep note of the Client ID and Client Secret.
To create your initial Connection locate the Podio to DB App Schema connector and enter the connection details as follows:
...
to sign into Podio and authorise the application to connect. When you click onto the ellipsis in the credentials field this will open a browser window where you need to sign in to your Podio space and then grant access to the API Key you have created (or the inbuilt Data Sync API keys).
In this example the application name was configured to be Data Sync.
Once you have granted access please navigate back to Data Sync where it will now show Connected in the credentials field. You can now select a workspace to connect to and click Connect to connect.
The Podio to DB App Schema does not support the connection library so you will need to re-do the connection each time you create a new project. Saving your project will retain the details you currently have and the connection will need re-authorising every now and again.
Previewing the data will return a list of the tables and columns contained within. Including the data types and lengths set for each column. You can connect this to a new or existing database and Data Sync will let you know the changes that need to be made to make your target database the same as your Podio workspace.
